Our Contracted Suppliers
The process HealthTrust uses to contract is a
detailed and rigorous one. Membership involvement
is a primary component and committees have been
established to obtain this member input. The
committees (Food, Medical, Surgical , Pharmacy,
Facilities, Laboratory, etc.) work with contracting
staff to determine supplier eligibility, request for
proposal requirements, special needs by category and
other details necessary for the initial bid
process. Once supplier proposals are received, the
committee continues to work with contracting staff
for analysis review, terms and conditions
exceptions, implementation plan review, distribution
capabilities and more until the final supplier award
is made.
Because contracting staff and committees work
together throughout the process, when a contract is
completed with an awarded supplier, our members know
that it has been vetted by peers and any commitment
requirements or terms are reasonable for the
contracted category. They also know that for all
clinical supplies, a clinical review and sometimes
detailed product evaluations have taken place,
depending on the product and clinical requirements.
