ADVANTAGETRUST OVERVIEW
The AdvantageTrust program provides non-acute
care members access to the negotiated contracts that
HealthTrust Purchasing Group has established (based
on $17 billion in annual purchases), but presents
the information in a way that is most relevant to
the facilities outside of the hospital. Because
non-acute care facilities have a variety of staff
conducting purchasing activities, AdvantageTrust
communicates information about discounts and terms
in a manner that all individuals involved in the
purchasing activity can understand.
The AdvantageTrust program was designed to serve
non-acute care facilities that are members of the
HealthTrust Purchasing Group. The HealthTrust
Purchasing Group is a purchasing cooperative serving
hospitals, long term care facilities, surgery
centers, physician offices and other healthcare and
health and well being organizations.
The purpose of a purchasing cooperative (Group
Purchasing Organization – GPO) is to leverage the
COMBINED purchase volume of its participating
members and negotiate discounts based on that higher
volume. The participating members continue to
purchase, receive goods and make payments directly
to/with suppliers, but pricing and other terms the
member accesses have been negotiated based on the
collective purchase volume.
For the member outside of the hospital,
AdvantageTrust offers the pricing of a large GPO
while communicating to the member in a simple to
understand way.
